The JOURNEY
Will’s Wednesday Work began as a personal experiment — a way to channel anxiety about waste into creativity. Each Wednesday became a space to step away from the pressures of the design industry and just make. No rules, no clients, no deadlines — just curiosity and cardboard.
What started as a small act of creative freedom soon became something bigger: a purpose. The idea that waste isn’t waste until we waste it. Every offcut, every box, every jar has potential — it’s just a resource in the wrong place.
Over time, that thinking evolved into a practice. I began turning what was around me — packaging waste, scrap materials, the contents of my recycling bin — into functional, beautiful design. From cardboard phonestands to lighting made from last night’s curry jar, each piece tells a story about seeing value where others don’t.
Will’s Wednesday Work is now more than just a weekly ritual. It’s a growing community of people who share a belief that creativity can be a tool for change — a way to rethink how we live, consume, and make.
My journey is about inspiring others to look at their own waste differently. To show that with a bit of imagination, what we throw away can become the start of something new.
It’s about moving from binning to winning.
